Childrens Classes

Painting and Drawing

Students learn technique through fun and lively drawing exercises then progress to work in watercolor and other creative media. Children will paint landscapes, still life, abstracts, portraits, and other subjects of interest to them. Ages 7-12.

Summer Clay

Through class projects, students will explore the basics of working with clay: coiling, slab building, potter's wheel, sculpture, carving, and glazing. Ages 6-12.

Students learn about composition, light and shadow, mixing colors, pigments and glazes, choosing subjects and transfering them onto paper. Ages 7 to 12.

Summer Art Camp

Clay Maui's two day Art Camps feature painting and drawing classes in the morning and clay classes in the afternoon! Lessons and projects will change weekly, so children can sign up for multiple weeks. Students bring lunch and we'll provide healthy snacks. Ages 6 -12.

Learn a range of pottery techniques, with emphasis on the potter's wheel. Come prepared to get dirty and have fun!

Jewelry Making: Basic Stringing

Learn the basics of stringing necklaces and bracelets. You'll learn about various tools, bead string cords, and findings, and how to finish your pieces using clasps and crimp beads. By the end of class you will have made a necklace and acquired all of the skills you need to make that perfect accessory!
