Celebrating the Artist in Us

ImageThrough May 24th, the Maui Arts & Cultural Center is presenting "Celebrating the Artist in Us," the annual show of art by Maui students. This year's show features works that focus on image and text.  Gallery visitors will be able to leave a message for their favorite arist on the Comment Wall.

The Exhibit is Tuesday through Sunday at the Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, One Cameron Way in Kahului, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Exhibit is also open before shows at the Castle Theater and during intermissions. It is free and open to the public.

Bryan DeBris at Banyan Tree Gallery

ImageThrough May 31st, the Lahaina Arts Society's Banyan Tree Gallery is featuring artist Bryan DeBris.  His show is entitled "Walls of DeBris" and can be viewed from 9 am to 5 pm daily.  The Gallery is located in the Old Lahaina Courthouse near the historic Banyan Tree.  For details, call 808-661-0111 or visit www.lahaina-arts.org.

 
2009 Student Salon Exhibition at the Hui

ImageThrough June 11th, the Hui No’eau Art Center in Makawao will be featuring the "2009 Student Salon Exhibition," a multimedia display of student creations alongside the work of Hui teaching artists.  The pieces selected for this year's exhibition represent the technical skills and overall spirit of the Hui's classes and workshops.  The Exhibition includes textiles, oil paintings, ceramics, print work, and jewelry designs.

The Hui No’eau is located at 2841 Baldwin Avenue, and its exhibits are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.   For more information, visit www.huinoeau.com.
